Type C : Internal Cavity Drainage System

Simplified:
A Type C System is an internal groundwater management system. The system relies on a cavity between the external skin and internal finish of the structure; groundwater is guided to an appropriate sump and pump system or a suitable drainage outlet with a non-return valve.

What you should consider:
Contaminated Water entering the system.
Ensuring the external basement wall provides enough primary resistance to water ingress to ensure the cavity accepts only a controlled amount of water or dampness
Benefits:
- Speed of Installation.
- Provides vapour control and when used with humidity control systems is capable of delivering an environment to all levels within a Grade 3 environment to BS8102:2022.
- Suitable for use in areas of permanent high water tables.
- Suitable for use in existing basements.
- Can also provide radon protection
